The Snæfellsnes Peninsula sits inside the path of totality on August 12, 2026. It's the only place on Earth where the eclipse is paired with glaciers, volcanoes, lava fields and Iceland's most photogenic coastline.
Music is one of five pillars — alongside science, exploration, wellness and ceremony. Iceland Eclipse is built around the eclipse itself, with music supporting the larger experience rather than defining it.
Snæfellsnes is a 2-hour drive from Reykjavík and Keflavík airport. We share recommended routes, shuttle options and self-drive tips closer to the event.
Iceland's August weather is variable, but Snæfellsnes has historically strong viewing odds for clear conditions. The full festival experience runs regardless of cloud cover, and we'll be tracking conditions closely with our science team in the days before totality.
